Sébastien Mosser
Sébastien is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at McMaster University. He is currently Associate Chair of the Computing and Software department, and Associate Director of McSCert, McMaster Centre for Software Certification. His research interests are related to software engineering, software composition, domain-specific languages and modelling at large. In addition, he applies his research to various domains such as machine learning pipelines, distributed systems, DevOps and safety.
Nirmal Chaudhari
I’m a fourth‑year Software Engineering student at McMaster University with a passion for building innovative software solutions. I enjoy working on unique projects that involve solving complex problems and learning new technologies. I am driven to use software as a tool to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Kalvin Khuu
Kalvin is currently a M. Eng student in Computing and Software at McMaster University. He is working on developing a guidance system to help software developers assess the level of fairness in their application. His research interests mainly focus on human-centered AI design, software engineering and natural language processing. With hands-on experience at organizations like Desjardins Group and the Quebec Ministry of Public Security, he has contributed to software modernization, UI/UX design and machine learning applications.
Darshan Shah
I am a first year engineering student here at Mac and will be pursuing Software Engineering next year. I have experiences in creating an app and smaller projects here and there. My interests include all sports (basketball mainly), video games, and anime.
Baptiste Lacroix
I am currently studying computer science with a specialization in Software Architecture at Polytech Nice Sophia University, an engineering school. I’m in the final year of my program and will graduate in August 2026. As part of a work-study program, I’m completing an apprenticeship where I apply my skills to real-world software projects. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve worked on a variety of school and personal projects, helping me in software development and system design.

Zhexuan (Jason) Lyu
Jason is currently an M.Eng. student in Computing and Software at McMaster University, supervised by Prof. Sébastien Mosser. He interned at Arctic Wolf (Summer & Fall 2024), EMQ Technologies (Summer 2023), and Microsoft Research Asia (2021–2022). He is also an Open-source Software Developer on GitHub with interests in various domains including but not limited to Golang/Python programming, cloud native, networking, and DevOps. His M.Eng. project focused on Kubernetes and justification models, where he developed new interests in safety and modeling.
Cass Braun
Cass is currently a software engineering and society student at McMaster University. She has loved working on Jpipe as a Research Assistant (May 2024-April 2025). Additionally, she is also a Teaching Assistant for Operating Systems (Winter 2025), Case Studies in History and Technology (Winter 2025), and Engineering Cornerstone Design Projects (Fall 2023-Fall 2024). She enjoys Data Structures and Algorithms as well as Signals and Systems and hopes to one day pursue a M.Eng. in one of these topics or a related topic. She hopes to one day to help create software systems that help improve the world.

I’m a third-year Software Engineering student who gained valuable experience working on jPipe, improving the grammar and the test suite. I’m passionate about building impactful and high-quality software, with plans to contribute to the industry in the future.
Deesha Patel
I am a DevOps Engineer at Pixomondo, passionate about developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery. With expertise in Terraform, GitHub CI/CD, AWS ECS, EC2, Fargate, RDS, and Auto Scaling, I focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency in cloud infrastructure. As part of my MEng project at McMaster University, I worked on Jpipe, where I analyzed and justified GitHub workflows to enhance automation and deployment processes. This project helped refine my skills in CI/CD optimization, workflow automation, and DevOps best practices.
